  Faculty Biography


Chantel Long, MD


Dr. Long has joined the Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency Program as Associate Director in 2011. Dr. Long received a B.S. in Biology Sciences at Kansas State University in 1995 and received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Kansas City in May of 1999.


She completed her residency training at the Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency Program in 2002. She has been practicing medicine in a rural community for the last 8 and a half years. Dr. Long enjoys the full spectrum of family medicine but has a special interest in women and children's health. Dr. Long is currently a member of AAFP, KAFP, AMA and the Saline County Medical Society.


Dr. Long grew up in Ellsworth, KS. She is happily married to Kenny Berndt and they are the proud parents of Isabella and Isaac. Dr. Long enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading and painting.
