Class of 2023

Marija Lawless, M.D.

Dr. Lawless graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology from Washburn University.  She went on to get her Doctorate in Medicine from KU Medical School-Kansas City.

Dr. Lawless grew up on a cattle farm in Atchison, Kansas.  She loves spending time with family especially with her 5 nieces and nephews.  She enjoys raising and showing Hereford cattle, designing and sewing outfits, and crocheting.  In her spare time she also loves to bake, participate in outdoor activities especially basketball, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.


Abby Hanzlicek, M.D.

Dr. Hanzlicek attended Kansas State University where she received her Bachelor’s in Nutritional Science and Gerontology.  She then went on to get her Doctorate in Medicine from KU Medical School-Kansas City.

Dr. Hanzlicek is from Sabetha, Kansas.  In her spare time she loves spending time with family, volunteering, caring, and advocating for canines.  She also enjoys working with cattle and researching cattle genetics as well as traveling the world to experience historical sites.


Alex Hermesch, M.D.

Dr. Hermesch graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology from Kansas University.  He then went on to get his Doctorate in Medicine from KU Medical School-Wichita. 

Dr. Hermesch is from Seneca, Kansas. In his spare time he enjoys watching sports-especially KC-Royals, KC-Chiefs, and KU.  He loves spending time with family and friends, and helping his Dad on the farm.  Dr. Hermesch other hobbies include watching movies, reading fantasy and science fiction novels, playing basketball, hiking, backpacking, and camping, and recently began learning to golf.


Kevin Klug, M.D.

Dr. Klug graduated from Fort Hays University with a Bachelor’s in Biology and Chemistry.  He then went on to get his Doctorate in Medicine from KU Medical School-Salina.

Dr. Klug is from Odin, Kansas.  He loves spending time with his family and participating in sporting activities with friends and family.  In his spare time he enjoys weight lifting, exercise, fishing and hunting.


Brandon Reid, M.D.

Dr. Reid started his college education at Georgian College in Orillia, Ontario, Canada where he studied veterinary technology.  He then went on to get his Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences and Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.  Dr. Reid got his Doctorate in Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine and just finished a preliminary year in surgery in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Reid is from Guelph, Ontario, Canada.  He loves sports including, baseball, hockey, rock climbing and bouldering, and running. In his spare time he enjoys movies, podcasts, animal behavior and biology, and canine behavioral modification.  Dr. Reid is also a hot sauce enthusiast!
